چکیده
The Exergetic Port-Hamiltonian Systems modeling language combines a graphical syntax inspired by bond graphs with port-Hamiltonian semantics akin to the GENERIC formalism. enables modular and hierarchical specification of composition pattern lumped distributed-parameter models. reflects first second law thermodynamics as structural properties. Interconnected hierarchically defined models multiphysical thermodynamic systems can thus be expressed in formal accessible humans computers alike. We discuss composed model Navier-Stokes-Fourier fluid on fixed spatial domain an example open system. At top level, system comprises five subsystems which kinetic energy storage, internal thermal conduction, bulk viscosity, shear viscosity.

On the Port-Hamiltonian Structure of the Navier-Stokes Equations for Reactive Flows
We consider the problem of finding an energy-based formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations for reactive flows. These equations occur in various applications, e. g., in combustion engines or chemical reactors. After modeling, discretization, and model reduction, important system properties as the energy conservation are usually lost which may lead to unphysical simulation results. In this pap...
متن کاملNotes on Navier - Stokes - Fourier system
These Lecture Notes are devoted to some aspects of the theory of the Navier-Stokes-Fourier system. We shall discuss 1) existence of weak solutions, 2) existence of suitable weak solutions and relative entropies, 3) weak strong uniqueness property in the class of weak solutions. For physical reasons, we shall limit ourselves to the three dimensional physical space, and for the sake of simplicity...
متن کاملSmoluchowski Navier-Stokes Systems
We discuss equilibria, dynamics and regularity for Smoluchowski equations coupled to Navier-Stokes equations. Introduction We consider mixtures of fluids and microscopic inclusions. The microscopic inclusions are characterized by state variables m ∈ M , where M is a compact smooth Riemannian manifold without boundary. The simplest example is that of microscopic rods with directors m ∈ S. The mi...
متن کاملDiscrete port-Hamiltonian systems
Either from a control theoretic viewpoint or from an analysis viewpoint it is necessary to convert smooth systems to discrete systems, which can then be implemented on computers for numerical simulations. Discrete models can be obtained either by discretizing a smooth model, or by directly modeling at the discrete level itself. One of the goals of this paper is to model port-Hamiltonian systems...
متن کاملNavier-Stokes Equations and Fluid Turbulence
An Eulerian-Lagrangian approach to incompressible fluids that is convenient for both analysis and physics is presented. Bounds on burning rates in combustion and heat transfer in convection are discussed, as well as results concerning spectra. Incompressible fluids are described by the Navier-Stokes equation. Turbulence ([1], [2], [3]) experiments provide measurements that correspond to average...
